  1. Replacement for the usual beep sound with a
  2. visual flash.  Potential uses for such a
  3. capability are to allow a hearing-impaired
  4. person to sense the beep or to avoid
  5. disturbing normal-hearing people yet allow
  6. the program to signal the user.  This is
  7. accomplished by replacing the code which
  8. generates the beep sound with new program
  9. instructions which replace the beep with a
  10. flash of selectable size and duration.      hw
